Everything About Alone Australia From Cast To Trailer (UPDATED)

The casting call for Australia’s version of the hit US reality show “Alone” is now open. Survival specialists are left alone in the woods with no camera crew and must survive the longest to win a half-million-dollar reward in the US series. SBS has obtained the exclusive rights to commission a local version of the show.

This will be the sixth installment in the Alone series to air in 2023, following those from the United States, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. Each season has taken its participants to places like Patagonia, Mongolia, and the Arctic, but this one will be set in the Australian bush, so it will be different from the other ones.

It’s SBS On Demand’s most popular reality series by far, and anyone who’s seen it knows why it’s so hard to put down. This year’s Alone Australia will feature ten contestants who will be placed in different areas around Australia, each a few kilometers apart, with just a bag full of 10 survival items they can choose from. Cameras are handed to the contestants in case something crazy happens like a bear attack. Yes, I’m serious about this.

Alone Australia Cast

The first season casting is now open. “Do you have what it takes to protect yourself, feed yourself, and remain alive in absolute isolation?” asks Alone Australia casting call. In the Australian wilderness, alone, can you survive?”

Alone, on the other hand, goes much beyond mere survival. The show’s hook is the mental difficulty the contestants encounter, not the fact that individuals create elegant and thoughtful homes out of logs, branches, and rocks. As long as possible, or use their satellite phone to formally tap out and be extracted, they must not only live but thrive. The problem is that without communication, they don’t know how many other contestants are still standing.

Eventually, we watch people pass out from fear, loneliness, injuries, and famine. The show just gets more severe as it goes on.

Alone Australia

Alone Australia Premise

Alone is an American adventure reality game show on History. It follows the self-documented daily struggles of 10 individuals (seven paired teams in season 4) as they survive alone in the wilderness for as long as possible using a limited amount of survival equipment. With the exception of medical check-ins, the participants are isolated from each other and all other humans. They may “tap out” at any time, or be removed due to failing a medical check-in.

The contestant who remains the longest wins a grand prize of $500,000. The seasons have been filmed across a range of remote locations, usually on Indigenous-controlled lands, including northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Nahuel Huapi National Park in Argentinian Patagonia, northern Mongolia, and Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories, and Chilko Lake in interior British Columbia.

What Are The General Rules For Alone Australia Participants?

To ensure that the contestants do not come into contact with one another, each is left off in a remote wilderness region. At this time of year, temperatures begin to fall and food supplies begin to run low, which increases the urgency of a survival situation. To ensure that each participant has access to the same amount of local resources, drop-off zones have been pre-calculated to take into account any differences in terrains.

In addition to a bag of standard equipment, clothing, and first aid/emergency supplies provided by the organizers, each contestant selects 10 items of survival gear from a pre-approved list of 40. On top of all that, they’re given a set of cameras so they can record their daily lives and their feelings. In order to survive as long as possible in the wild, the contestants are forced to gather food, construct shelters, and deal with extreme loneliness, physical deprivation, and mental anguish.

Using a satellite phone provided by the competition, contestants may withdraw from the competition for any reason (known as “tapping out”). The candidates’ health is also periodically checked by medical professionals, who have the authority to disqualify and evacuate anyone they believe is unable to participate in a safe manner in the competition.  Participants have been informed that the event could go on for a year or more.

Conclusion

SBS has announced the debut of an Australian version of Alone, the international hit that sees competitors battle to survive the longest in remote locations. Australian campers, survivalists, and reality TV viewers are all in for a treat. The format of the show will be based on the American original, in which ten people are dispersed over difficult terrain with just ten items from a pre-approved list. Participants have left to video themselves and do not know how many people remain in the competition until just one person remains.
