Are The Durrells In Corfu Season 5 Cancelled Or Not?
The show begins with Louisa Durrell sharing her lifestyle along with her 4 children who were going to move from Bournemouth to the Greek island of Corfu. Her husband died some years earlier and now the family is facing a lot of crisis along with financial problems. They faced a Homeric fight and slowly the family adapts to life on the island. Even the lack of electricity proves that Corfu is cheap and an earthly paradise.
As the series continues, complications arise in the family there were differences in relationships. However, it is important to note here that the show represents a lot of artistic views that make it unique from the source material. For example, a scene where the island is shown together when in actuality, Lawrence Durrell, the eldest child of the family, aged 23 in 1935, had already moved to the island earlier with his wife.
Other than this, the show is a very relaxing watch you are bound to enjoy on weekends with your family around you. The show focuses mostly on scenic sun-drenched sceneries, cute animals, and gruff old people who have hearts of gold. These things are what make the show extremely charming.
Over the seasons, the series has maintained this voice, while also making sure that the audience does not get confused and face issues to figure out what is going on with the family members. It also looks like in the show that the Durrell family has some sort of aversion to leaving things unsaid, so in some parts of the show, you might have people who hide their feelings from each other, here, at all moments, the viewers are aware of exactly what each family member is thinking. To keep continuing the show the problems they face are not too challenging either, and though there is tension, at the back of their minds, viewers know that they will be overcome.
