Singer Céline Marie Claudette Dion is from Canada. She is known as the “Queen of Power Ballads” and is renowned for her entrancing vocals. She has integrated pop, rock, R&B, gospel, and classical music into her music. She has primarily recorded in English and French, although she has also performed in other languages including Spanish, Italian, German, Latin, Japanese, and Chinese.
Dion, who came from a large family and was raised in Charlemagne, Quebec, was discovered by René Angélil, who would later become her manager and husband. During the 1980s, Dion became a teenage celebrity in her own country with a string of French-language albums. Here are more details about Celine Dion’s Kids.
Celine Dion Kids
Despite being a superstar, Céline Dion views becoming a mother as her greatest “privilege.” The late singer of “My Heart Will Go On” and René Angélil had three boys together: René-Charles, 22, and the twins Nelson and Eddy, 11. Dion and her sons have relied on one another for support ever since Angélil passed away in 2016 from throat cancer.
Dion’s sons acted as “her light” when she had to postpone all of her tours through April 2024 as a result of being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in May 2023. Continue reading to find out more about Céline Dion’s three kids.
René-Charles Angélil, 22
Born on January 25, 2001, in Loxahatchee, Florida, René-Charles was given his father’s name and weighed 6 lbs., 8 oz. After a series of IVF procedures, Dion and Angélil welcomed their first child together when she was 32 and he was 59.
Her oldest kid, according to Dion, is a “miracle child.” She revealed in May 2006, when René-Charles was 5 years old, how much she cherished being his mother. At Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Dion began her first residency, which she held there from March 2003 to December 2007.

The singer claimed she was looking for a more consistent regimen so she could appreciate her motherhood. At one particular performance, her son was one of the spectators. Sports were a big part of René-Charles’ upbringing. The 14-year-old son of Dion was “very athletic” and enjoyed playing hockey and golf.
A few years later, wearing a jersey with “Angélil” printed on the back, Dion was spotted dancing and cheering in the stands at one of her son’s hockey games in Terrebonne, Quebec.
After his father passed away, René-Charles had a significant impact on Angélil’s burial by giving a moving eulogy. Dion was astounded by the resilience her sons showed in the wake of their father’s passing, particularly René-Charles as the oldest of the three.
René-Charles is currently pursuing a career in music, following in his parents’ footsteps. He put out two tracks on SoundCloud in May 2018 that peaked at No. 1 and No. 2 on the R&B & Soul New & Hot chart. After the tracks were released, René-Charles spoke with the Montreal Gazette and described playing his mother the music for the first time.
Dion also expressed her love for her eldest son in a touching Instagram post on his 21st birthday. Alongside a photo of Dion and Angélil cradling René-Charles as a newborn in the hospital, she wrote: “I’ve been thriving as I watch you grow. Your intelligence, your generosity, your courage, and your great sensitivity never cease to move me.”
Nelson and Eddy Angélil, 12
Dion and Angélil revealed that their family would be increasing in 2010 after six IVF cycles and one miscarriage. The 5 lbs., 4 oz., and 5 lbs., 10 oz. fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson were born on October 23, 2010, in West Palm Beach, Florida. While Dion once met Nelson Mandela while on tour, Nelson was named in his honor.
Dion saw the various characters of her twin sons even as an infant. When Angélil passed away, Eddy and Nelson were only 5 years old. Dion used Disney’s Up to break the news to her two youngest sons. Before her late husband’s funeral, she gave the twins a glitter and balloon-filled celebration after waiting a few days.
She used a balloon analogy to explain his passing, telling children that Angélil had “gone up” and flown away on balloons and would not come back. Dion, Eddy, and Nelson shared a nice nighttime routine after Angélil passed away to keep in touch with him, staying true to her Up analogy.
“Nelson and Eddy, you have been bringing so much joy, love, and laughter into our lives every single day for the past 10 years,” Dion captioned the post. “You make me, your big brother and your Dad, who is for sure watching over you, so very proud.” “Happy birthday my beautiful boys! We love you so very much… – Mom, RC and Dad xx… 🐾,” she concluded.
