This show has made a very successful debut on streaming platforms and also had made a successful debut in theatres. It has been announced officially by Studio MAPPA that they have been planning on making a second season for this anime series and it might be released sometime in the upcoming year. As of now, we are expecting that the series might be released sometime in 2023 however it hasn’t been completely confirmed by the makers regarding the release date yet.
It has been recently announced by the makers that Jujutsu Kaisen is under protection right now and has been scheduled to be released in 2023. However, a lot of details about this upcoming series are still unknown. As per the reports, the cast of the first season is going to be back for the second season as well. Everything About Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
The first season of this show was released in the fall of 2020 as per the anime schedule. Meanwhile, the winter season of 2021 has been a memorable one for all anime lovers due to the Kyoto Goodwill Event arc, And if for the upcoming years this event remains the same it is most likely that the upcoming season might not be released in the winter time frame of 2023.
It might be released in summer 2023 however winter release might be a big bit of problematic for the makers. If we look at the excessive workload of MAPPA’s which includes many series that are still under production such as Attack on Titan: Final Season Part 2, Chainsaw Man, Dance Dancer, Jigokurak. Other than this a new movie named Zombie Land Saga and Yuri!!! Is still under production.
These projects are only confirmed as they have been planned on to be released by the end of this year for most probably the first quarter of 2023. Other than this there are a lot of other movies and series still under development at MAPPA studio. So we are expecting that this might keep the schedule for the production of the series a bit busy and the series aligned might be delayed more than the expected release.
However, that’s not how it actually works so we are expecting that the makers give us some good news real soon. Our assumption is also not certain about all the upcoming movies by the production but we are considering that most of the movies might be out by the end of 2022 or at the beginning of 2023 at the earliest.
So with the release date fixed for the year 2023 no matter when the series actually hits the screen, we are very sure that the second season of this show is going to be released in the upcoming year. Just in case there is any other pandemic or any other unforeseen situations the series might get delayed.
