The series was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award and a Television Critics Association Award and won a Writers Guild of America Award; it also featured interviews with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Derek Jeter, Missy Elliott, Denzel Washington, Charlize Theron, David Letterman, Yo-Yo Ma, and many others. They’ve been wonderful hosts, and we hope the best for them and the rest of the JAX Media crew.

In addition, the show’s official Twitter account confirmed the news, writing, “it’s been a good run, fam.”

The series finale, which aired on Thursday, June 23, was the fourth and final episode of the show. Perhaps it was inevitable, as the duo went from airing new episodes twice weekly to once weekly this past season. After filming episodes at their respective homes during the pandemic, they had just returned to in-studio production.

The series premiered in 2016 as Viceland’s late-night offering before moving to Showtime as that network’s first late-night program. Desus (aka Daniel Baker) and The Kid Mero (aka Joel Martinez) have collaborated for the better part of a decade.

They have more than 250 episodes of the Bodega Boys podcast under their belt and hosted a Complex TV series in 2014. The book “God-Level Knowledge Darts: Life Lessons from the Bronx” was published in 2020 and became an instant bestseller.
