As soon as Warren’s tweet appeared, Beyoncé’s legion of followers began responding in force. Her new album, Renaissance, features a track called “Alien Superstar,” and it has precisely 24 credited writers. Even though Warren did not name the song or the famous singer, the Beyhive was offended nonetheless.

Warren attempted to clarify his comments after a backlash from Beyoncé’s fans by tweeting, “This isn’t meant as shade, I’m just curious,” and later, “Ok, it’s prob samples that add up the amount [sic] of writers.” The Beyhive, however, was not amused.
Finally, this afternoon, Warren wrote, “I didn’t mean that as an attack or as disrespect. I didn’t know this, thank U for making me aware of it. No need to be mean about it.”
Recently, Beyonce caused her own controversy and had to make amends for it.
Beyoncé, Drake, and seven other songwriters contributed to the Renaissance track “Heated,” which features the lyric “Spazzin’ on that a**, spazz on that a**.” Spastic diplegia is a form of cerebral palsy that affects muscle control and coordination. The term “spaz” is often used as a derogatory term to describe those suffering from it.
