According to a recent rumor from One Take News and That Hashtag Show, Disney’s highly awaited series Moon Knight will be released earlier than planned.
According to the rumor, Moon Knight would be the first Disney+ series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to launch in 2022, on March 30, 2022. Of course, everything is prone to revision and should be taken with a pinch of salt, but if it does end up being released then, it may set the series’ conclusion right before Marvel’s next major picture, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The very first official trailer for the series “isn’t far off,” according to the rumor, and should arrive soon before the launch.
Moon Knight, Marvel Studios’ new Disney+ series, will introduce Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac in the eponymous character of Marc Spector, marking the famous superhero’s live-action premiere and is likely to appear in future MCU films.
Date of Premiere
The series will premiere in 2022: During the 2021 Disney+ Day event, Marvel revealed that Moon Knight, along with Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk, will join the streaming service in 2022.
In March, production began: The Hawke news was accompanied by the announcement that Marvel intends to begin production on the program in Budapest around March 2021.
Moon Knight: Who Is He?
The backstory of the character is entertaining. Moon Knight, invented by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, originally appeared in Werewolf by Night in 1975. He’s worked with the Avengers, the Secret Avengers, and the X-Men, including She-Hulk, since then.

Unless the MCU entirely revises his origin narrative, Moon Knight will center on Marc Spector, a former boxer who has become a marine and then a mercenary. After being engaged with the Egyptian gods (long tale!), he is given the opportunity to rectify himself by being a god’s image on Earth. He refers to himself as “The Fist of Khonshu,” after the Egyptian deity of the moon, Khonshu. He also has several alter personalities and is usually likened to Batman from DC Comics.
The figure possesses ambiguous abilities He has the talents of a soldier thanks to his military training, but those of a superhero are a little fuzzy. He has a high pain tolerance, and depending on the scenario, his numerous identities either help or hinder him when battling others (he is thought to have dissociative identity disorder). Furthermore, because his powers are derived from the moon deity, his abilities are affected by lunar phases.
But he does have a nice costume! Parts of his costume are constructed of adamantium (the same material as Wolverine’s claws) and he wears a massive cape to assist him to fall from tremendous heights in elegance.
The Cast
Oscar Isaac has been confirmed to portray the titular Moon Knight, after being connected to the role as early as October 2020.
An Inside Llewyn Davis and Dune actor allegedly accepted the role in January 2021, but Marvel did not confirm the hiring until May.
Since then, there have been various signs that he has been cast in the starring role, along with a tweet from Moon Knight director Aaron Moorhead.
Ethan Hawke will accompany Isaac in an unspecified evil role, according to The Hollywood Reporter, while May Calamawy has also been cast in the series.
Moon Knight’s creative team will be led by Jeremy Slater, who adapted the superhero drama The Umbrella Academy for Netflix.
Slater also collaborated on Josh Trank’s ill-fated Fantastic Four revival, Netflix’s Death Note adaption, and the brief-lived Exorcist TV series.
Mohamed Diab was rumored to be the project’s director by Deadline in October, however, this has yet to be formally verified by Marvel Studios.
