Eva the Owlet is the newest show in the Apple TV+ kids’ changemakers initiative. This program brings together world-famous education leaders and the world’s best storytellers to make original shows for kids that are inspiring and educational. Through Apple’s original series like Stillwater, Hello, Jack: The Kindness Show, Pretzel, and the Puppies, and many more, the initiative helps kids develop their creativity, self-confidence, and ability to think critically.

For Eva the Owlet, Apple TV+ worked with a changemaker named John F. Evans, MAT, MA, Ed.D., who is a writing clinician, National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach at Duke Integrative Medicine, and the founder and executive director of Wellness & Writing Connections, LLC. Evans wrote the book Expressive Writing: Words that Heal with James Pennebaker.

It has been translated into six languages. He works with individuals and groups to teach them how to use writing to improve their physical, emotional, and mental health. He also worked with the executive producers and Scholastic Entertainment to help develop the series and add lessons about the importance of using writing as a tool for healthy self-expression.

The executive producers of Eva the Owlet are Iole Lucchese (Clifford the Big Red Dog), Caitlin Friedman (Caster), and Jef Kaminsky, all of whom have been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award (Stillwater).
