Developer 11bit Studios has disputed a leak about the release date of Frostpunk 2.
Frostpunk 2, Kerbal Space Program 2, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 release dates were apparently leaked via Steam API, as revealed earlier this week.
Even if a game’s release date is never made public, Steam compels creators to specify a hidden release date for the game’s Steam page. As a result, they’re not guaranteed to be correct.
11bit Studios Contends That the Information Is False
Even 11bit Studios claims that the information that has been leaked is inaccurate and misleading.
11bit Studios wrote on social media, “As we heard today, information about the #Frostpunk2 launch date leaked into the public space. We assure you that any pieces of information that aren’t coming straight from the Administration offices are false”.

It appears that release dates are nothing more than an informality, merely presenting an approximate date that isn’t necessarily fixed in stone.
Developers can’t change a release date more than once in the first ten days after it’s been set by Valve.
Even if they’re accurate, several of the dates are either inaccurate (Kerbal Space Program 2 is stated as December 2021, which has already passed) or substantially ahead of schedule (Frostpunk 2, for instance, is set for 2024).
The leak has yet to be acknowledged by the other developers on the list.
A new Frostpunk game, set 30 years after the events of the first, was unveiled in August last year.
