One of the most popular animes on the market is Demon Slayer, and its willingness to depict grim subject matter may be a reason for this. Beginning with a tragic event, the series never backs away from exposing viewers to the brutal reality of the world in which the characters find themselves.

While Tanjiro and the other characters in Demon Slayer often represent hope in the world, they encounter challenges well beyond what is common for their age. Is Tanjiro older than the other characters in the anime, or is he younger?

When Demon Slayer opens, Tanjiro and his friends seem unusually young for having trained in the skill of killing demons. Even though the characters age, they remain teenagers for the entire series. They’re too young to be battling demons, but what mythical hero doesn’t grow up too quickly?

As a result of this tragedy, he sets out to join the Demon Slayer Corps and bring Nezuko back to life. The time goes quickly after Tanjiro spends some time exercising with Urokodaki, and he’s already 15 by the third episode.

Tanjiro could be a few years older by the end of the anime, depending on how long it takes for the story to progress. But how old is he in comparison to his fellow travelers?

There is now a Mugen Train Arc that focuses mainly on the Flame Hashira, Rengoku, in Demon Slayer‘s current storyline. When viewers first encounter Rengoku, he is 20 years old, which fits with Hashira’s general average of 20 years old.

In the upcoming Entertainment District Arc, Tengen will be a prominent character, clocking in at 23 years of age.

As noted by GameRant, Tanjiro is introduced to the story as a 19-year-old by the demon slayer Giyu, who is 21 in the present day. Hashira Kanao, who frequently battles alongside Giyu, is a younger member of the gang.

With outstanding abilities for someone her age, it’s safe to say the Demon Slayer Corps would welcome her with open arms.

It is unusual to see a Hashira who has lived a long life, as many of them die in the course of work. Tanjiro’s enemies are possibly the oldest characters in Demon Slayer. Muzan appears to have been around for a very, very long time. In many cases, he is pursued by an army of demons.

It’s understandable that the Demon Slayer Corps would find it difficult to keep up with their strong foes, given their long life spans. It’s clear that kids need to start developing their abilities as soon as possible.
