Hayden Panettiere’s brother, Jansen Panettiere, has died at age 28, PEOPLE has verified. Over the last weekend, Jansen passed away in New York City. Jansen’s cause of death was not immediately known, but a source told TMZ there was no reason to suspect foul play concerning his death.
Five years younger than Hayden, Jansen followed in her footsteps and became a successful actress in Hollywood.
From the early 2000s, he has been in various film and television productions, including Even Stevens, The X’s, Tiger Cruise, Racing Stripes, The Martial Arts Child, The Walking Dead, Perfect Game, and How High 2, among others.

Jansen posted a photo of himself and Hayden, 33, trimming his hair in the middle of January.
