‘16 and Pregnant’ Star Jordan Cashmyer’s Cause of Death Revealed
On Wednesday, the official cause of death of “16 and Pregnant” star Jordan Cashmyer was announced as drug intoxication. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Maryland Department of Health that Cashmyer, who was 26 years old at the time of her death on January 15, had fentanyl, despropionyl fentanyl, and cocaine in her system.

According to the coroner’s office, it is “undetermined” whether or not the overdose was accidental. Jordan Cashmyer’s death was first reported by her stepmother, Jessica Cashmyer, on the Facebook page of her father, Dennis M. Cashmyer Jr., along with a black-and-white photo of the late reality star.
“Last night I received a call no parent ever wants. My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old. Our hearts are truly broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER,” Jessica’s post read.
“Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through this terrible tragedy. Please understand and respect our privacy at this time. We are surrounded by the love and support of our children, granddaughter Lyla, and family members.”
Howard Wood, Jordan’s representative, released a statement confirming her death as well, saying, “I got the news last night after returning from a business trip and all I can say is that this is an incredibly sad day.”
The last time I spoke with Jordan, she sounded happy and healthy,” Wood concluded. “I wish people had the opportunity to know her away from her struggles as she was a very sweet and kind-hearted person. I’m grateful I had the chance to know and work with her all these years. Life was not always good to her and I hope now she is in a better place. RIP sweet girl.”

In 2014, Jordan and her then-boyfriend Derek Taylor, as well as their daughter Genevieve “Evie” Shae Taylor, starred in the MTV reality series. Two years after granting Taylor’s mother temporary custody of Evie, Jordan was arrested for drug possession due to his history of substance abuse.
