Kim Kardashian Testifies at Blac Chyna Trial

LOS ANGELES (AP) — When it came to the reality show starring her brother Rob Kardashian and his then-fiancee Blac Chyna, Kim Kardashian said she had no recollection of trying to sabotage it. As a result of hearing that Chyna had abused her younger brother, she demanded that she be removed from “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”

“I will not go into a toxic work environment,” Kardashian spoke of her refusal to work with Chyna. “On my own show, I have the power to do that.”

Khloe took the testimony for an hour in a Los Angeles courtroom in a civil trial in which she is accused of defaming Chyna and convincing producers and E! to cancel the spinoff show, “Rob & Chyna,” because of her family’s influence.

“I don’t remember” was the theme of her evidence, but as the biggest star to appear in a trial full of stars, she caused a commotion as she entered the witness stand in a dark grey pinstripe suit and white sneakers. “I don’t remember.” Plentiful media rushed out of the courthouse to capture her exit.

Lynne Ciani, Chyna’s lawyer, presented Kardashian with a series of text exchanges from late 2016 and early 2017.

All of the time, Kardashian claimed she had no recollection of sending them, but she didn’t exclude the likelihood that they were sent in fact by her.

“I don’t remember text messages that I sent this morning,” Kardashian said.

“This definitely sounds like something I would say,” Kardashian said in response to seeing a lengthy text exchange between a producer from the production company Bunim Murray, which produced both performances.

There, she expressed her rage at the prospect of Chyna being videotaped for “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” on which the reality star appeared on and off as she pleased.

“I think we all need to take a break from filming at this point until we figure out what’s going on. She is not going to be on our show,” the text read. “So if you guys are going to film with Rob and Chyna, and then you are going to lose the Kardashians and Jenners.”

If we can’t figure out what’s going on, I think we should all take a vacation from filming at this time.” The text stated, “She will not be appearing on our show.” In other words, “So if you guys are going to shoot with Rob and Chyna, and then you’re going to lose the Kardashians and Jenners,”

It appears that Chyna was asked to be videotaped for “her show,” but Kardashian argued that it was just a technical glitch.

“This is clearly voice dictated, as is everything I text that’s so long, and it’s sometimes rendering ‘our’ as ‘her,” Kardashian testified. “I would never refer to her show as ‘her’ show, I would say ‘Rob’s show’ since it’s a spin-off of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians.’”

Amanda Weinstein, the recipient, did not work on “Rob & Chyna,” she said.

As a result of Kim Kardashian’s tweets, she and her family were shown to have no influence over the final decisions of the shows’ producers and networks.

“No one listens to us, no one respects us,” one text message reads.

What they could do was withhold their own participation in the case of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

According to Kardashian, “I have a right as a cast member to say we really need a break”.

The confrontation between Chyna and Rob Kardashian on Dec. 15, 2016, which led to the couple’s breakup and the cancellation of their reality show, has been a major focus of the trial, which is currently in its seventh day.

Ciani inquired Kardashian if she had observed any signs of injury on her brother during that particular incident.

“I just remember at that moment him being super emotional, and it’s really all such a blur,” Kardashian said. “I remember him being really red, but I don’t remember anything very specific, just him looking puffy and red.”

Asking again and again if she authorized her sisters to inform executives and producers about the incident, as claimed in the complaint, Kardashian stated she had no recall of doing so, eventually becoming somewhat upset with Ciani but maintaining composed throughout the exchanges.

“I know you want my answer to change,” Kardashian said. “You’ve asked the same question like four times, I wish I had a better answer for you, but I just don’t remember.”

Asked specifically if she had directed Kylie Jenner to send an email on the issue, Kardashian replied, “I do not control my sisters’ lives, and I do not have conversations with them before they send emails.”

Video deposition of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” co-creator Kris Jenner’s “American Idol” co-host Ryan Seacrest was shown to the jury later Tuesday.

“Rob & Chyna” executive producer Seacrest stated that he had no responsibilities on the show. His “Kardashians” deal, he said, entitles him to the title of any spin-offs that may arise from it.

In spite of this, he did promote the series on his radio show.

Asked his first impression of Chyna he said “she was bold and memorable.”

“Do bold and memorable people make good television?” In the video, Ciani asked him.

“Sometimes yes and sometimes no. In the episode that I saw, I must have thought yes.”

“Why?” Ciani asked.

Seacrest explained, “Because I went on to promote it.”
