Lisa Guerrero, a reporter for Inside Edition, has spoken up about the difficult times she had while covering Monday Night Football games in the early 2000s.

Guerrero, 58, opens out about the prejudice and maltreatment she faced as a female sports writer in her upcoming memoir Warrior: My Path to Being Brave, due out on January 24. She also reports on her miscarriage, which she had while on air covering a game.

After being let go from Monday Night Football at the end of the 2003 season, Guerrero told People that the constant abuse she endured from her employer, executive producer Freddie Gaudelli, and others were responsible for her miscarriage. They would criticize her appearance, posture, and script.

Guerrero has been a member of the WSU faculty since 2004, and for the past two years, she has held the position of associate vice provost for equity and inclusive excellence.
