Melania Trump Statement About The Attack on the Capitol
“I am disappointed and disheartened with what happened last week. I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false, misleading accusations on me — from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda,” she said. “This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. Nobody should use them for personal gain.”
The First Lady said “I absolutely condemn the violence” that unfolded at the Capitol and said that she implores people to “never make assumptions based on the colour of a person’s skin or use differing political ideologies as a basis for aggression and viciousness.”
Moreover, she urged citizens to stay united and advised them not to focus on what causes division.
She continued saying “It is inspiring to see that so many have found a passion and enthusiasm in participating in an election, but we must not allow that passion to turn to violence,”
In her letter, she didn’t blame anyone for inciting the violence in Capitol last Wednesday. In the incident, some people have charged including President Donald Trump and some Republican lawmakers. They are said to encourage pro-Trump supporters to “fight” at the Capitol. While on the other hand the lawmakers tried to count the Electoral College votes that solidified Biden’s victory.
In the last, she expressed her experience as the First lady. She said, “honour of my lifetime to serve as the first lady. I would love to continue to fulfil my duties until Trump’s final day in office unless he resigns.
