New Nintendo Console Release Date Status Confirmed for 2024 (Latest News)
An industry analyst has predicted that Kyoto-based gaming corporation Nintendo would release a new game system in 2024, possibly as a replacement to the Switch hybrid platform.
Fusajiro Yamauchi, a craftsman, founded Nintendo in 1889 as Nintendo Karuta, a company that made hanafuda playing cards. In 1977, Nintendo released its first system, the Color TV-Game, after experimenting with numerous businesses in the 1960s and becoming a publicly traded firm.
Donkey Kong in 1981 and the Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Mario Bros. in 1985 made it a household name around the world.

Some of Nintendo’s most popular video game consoles, including the Game Boy and Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Nintendo DS, Wii, and Switch, have been released since then.
Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, and Kirby are some of the most well-known franchises established by Nintendo. Xenoblade Chronicles and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are two of the most popular franchises created by Nintendo. Mario, Nintendo’s mascot, is well-known around the world.
Despite the arrival of the GameCube, Nintendo would fall to third place in the international market behind the Dreamcast (in 1999), PlayStation 2 (in 2000), and Xbox (in 2001).
The Pokémon Company and HAL Laboratory are two of Nintendo’s commercial partners, as well as numerous subsidiaries in Japan and around the world. From the Game Accolades to the Emmy Awards in Technology & Engineering, Nintendo has won numerous awards for its staff members as well as its products. In the Japanese market, it is one of the wealthiest and most valuable companies.
Japanese multinational consumer electronics business Nintendo has created seven home video game systems and a number of portable consoles that may be used with external media. Nintendo has sold over 863,07 million hardware units as of September 30th, 2021, including the Nintendo Switch.
The Color TV-Game, the company’s first console, was a hit in Japan but never made it outside the country. The Game & Watch handheld series was the company’s first global hit, but the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), first released in Japan as the Family Computer (Famicom) in 1983, was much more successful.
It was the NES, which re-ignited the video game industry following the crash of 1983, that was a worldwide success. Nintendo’s Game Boy, introduced in 1989, was the first mass-market portable system.
Analysts Have Predicted a 2024 Release Date
The Japanese gaming giant’s hybrid system Switch continues to be the goose that lays golden eggs. In Japan, it outsold both the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo 3DS handheld gaming consoles despite the fact that its year-over-year console sales were down this year.

Despite rumors that Nintendo was working on a new game console, the firm instead unveiled a revamped and improved version of its current hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch, in 2019.
According to Harding-Rolls, “Ampere is currently forecasting a next-gen Nintendo device to release in 2024.”
“By the end of that year Switch is predicted to have sold through 146m units meaning it still has the potential to become the best-selling console ever by the end of its lifetime, selling over 158 million units and overtaking the PlayStation 2.”

President Shuntaro Furukawa of Nintendo revealed that the company’s ultimate transition from the Switch to its next hardware platform is a key concern.
“However, the question of whether we will be able to just as smoothly transition from the Nintendo Switch to the next generation of hardware is a major focus for us. Based on our experiences with the Wii, Nintendo DS, and other hardware, it is very clear that one of the major obstacles is how to easily transition from one hardware to the next,” the president said during a Japanese investor Q&A as translated by Robert Sephazon.
A few months ago, Nintendo stated that it was still in the middle of the Switch’s lifecycle and that the firm was still aiming for the console’s six-year growth. Note that Furukawa’s most recent statement was made in answer to a query regarding how the Japanese gaming giant has maintained a good game release schedule six years into its hybrid console’s life cycle and his own ideas on moving to the next gaming device.
