After working for a short time as an assistant coach for the NFL’s Houston Oilers, Saban was asked to be the head coach at the University of Toledo in 1989. Nick’s leadership changed the team right away, and in the 1990 season, they only lost two games.

Nick Saban’s Real Estate
Saban and his wife Terry bought a home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for about $2.9 million in 2007. The Crimson Tide Foundation bought Saban’s 8,700-square-foot property for $3.1 million in 2013. This was supposedly part of Saban’s deal with the university, and even after he sold the property, he stayed there.
So, the Crimson Tide Foundation was able to pay Saban’s rent, property taxes, and other fees so that he could have a place to live. This is a fairly common thing to do. The university bought Bear Bryant’s house similarly years ago.
Nick Burton has also bought property on Lake Burton in the North Georgia Mountains in the past. He bought one property with a living space of 9,600 square feet and 1.7 acres of land. The property is right on the water and is surrounded by trees. It has over 700 feet of lakefront. In 2013, Saban put this house up for auction and got just under $11 million for it. He didn’t have to go very far after selling this property. At the time of the auction, Nick’s family already had a similar-valued second home on Lake Burton.
