Season 2 of the smash Hulu series Only Murders in the Building is already being clamored for by fans eager to solve the mystery of Arconia.

In September 2021, a new season of the Steve Martin and John Hoffman-created mystery-comedy series was announced. All the information you need to know about the upcoming season of the show can be found below.

This is the only true-crime podcast that follows three neighbors who create an odd friendship around their love of podcasts.

Only Murders In The Building Season 2 Release Date

The popular Hulu comedy series has yet to receive an official release date. The new season’s filming began in December 2021 and is currently ongoing. At the end of February, Gomez posted this off-screen photo of herself with Short and Martin to her Twitter account.

We’ll have a clearer sense of when the second season will be available on Hulu once we obtain confirmation that it has finished filming. As things stand right now, a release in 2022 is both possible and likely. However, we’ll keep an eye out for any new information on when the show will be released.

The finale concluded with a dramatic cliffhanger that left the audience wishing there had been more to see.

The second season will focus on Bunny’s killer and how our three sleuths will prove their innocence.

According to John Hoffman, the show’s co-creator, the following is a synopsis for season 2:

“Our trio is in the hot seat at the end of Season 1. They have to reckon with their relationship with Bunny in the days prior to what happens at the end of the season and there’s a lot that went down. Mabel said some unkind things about her outside of the Arconia.

Oliver had a long history of conflict with Bunny. And Charles was deeply offended at the idea of being evicted by her after 30 years. There’s all that plus their connection to true crime and their respective histories which we will learn more about. There’s a lot there we start peeling back that’s built around what happened at the end of Season 1 and leading into 2. It gets more complicated and more fun in weird ways. It also puts pressure on them to solve the case.”

There will be a return for the trio of Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez). In addition to Martin and Short, Gomez has proven to be an invaluable asset to their creative team, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with in season 2.

Many of the series’ first-rate sidekicks are back which promises to be just as entertaining. Nathan Lane’s Teddy Dimas and Amy Ryan’s Jan both appear in the trailer.

Both are set to appear as guests in the upcoming season, along with Aaron Dominguez, who appeared in season one. Tina Fey, who appeared as true-crime podcaster Cinda Canning, had the same experience.

A few fresh intriguing additions have been confirmed. Alice, a sophisticated member of the art world who becomes enmeshed in the mystery, is played by Cara Delevigne (Suicide Squad, Carnival Row).

Shirley MacLaine (Terms of Endearment), Michael Rapaport (Life & Beth), and Amy Schumer (Life & Beth) are among the other guest stars who have been confirmed for the new season.

Both Zoe Colletti (Fear the Walking Dead) and Andrea Martin (Evil) have been cast in the show, although their roles have yet to be revealed.

Hulu in the US and Disney Plus in the UK are currently streaming the first season of Only Murders in the Building. The show can only be viewed by paying for a subscription to one of these streaming services.
