Apple TV+ has finally revealed its first-ever footage of Pachinko Trailer, an upcoming drama. The series is based on a multigenerational novel that shares the same title and is written by Min Jin Lee. The executive producers of the show are Kogonada and Justin Chon. Each of these executive producers has directed four episodes each. Kogonada has directed the pilot episode of Pachinko.
Pachinko: Release Date
Pachinko is set to premiere on 25 March 2022. It is written and executively produced by Soo Hugh. The vision of the show was also created by him. It will premiere with the first three episodes of the show. The show will then have new weekly installments every Friday through April 29, 2022. Pachinko will feature eight episodes only and the viewers can watch it on Apple TV+.
Pachinko: Plot
The plot of the series can well be guessed from the Pachinko Trailer. According to the Pachinko Trailer, the series is about hopes and dreams chronicles that run against four generations of a Korean immigrant family. The scope of the show is shown as epic and the tone used to narrate the story can be considered intimate.
In Pachinko Trailer, the series is shown to have a start with forbidden love and a sweeping saga is also shown across America, Japan, and Korea. In the Pachinko Trailer, the fans could get a trailer of Sunja, the protagonist of the novel. The role of Sunja is played by Youn Yuh-Jung and Minha Kim. In the Trailer, one can also see the people who Sunja encounters in the form of flashes of his life. The difference in her lifestyle has been portrayed in the show through the shots of the way of carrying a basket on her head and cooking with games.

The cast of Pachinko includes Soji Ara, Inji Jeong, Steve Sanghyun, Kaho Minami, Jun-woo Han, Anna Sawai, Jimmi Simpson, Eun Chae Jung, and Yu-na Jeon.
Lee Min Ho will be playing the role of Hansu, Kim Min Ha will be playing the role of Sunja in her teens, Youn Yuh Jung will be seen as the older version of Sunja. Further, the appearance will be made by Soji Arai as Mozasu, Jin Ha as Solomon, Jung Ji as Yangjin, Jimmi Simson as Tom Andrews, Eun Chae as Kyus Tom Andrews, Jung Eun Chae as Kyunghee.
Pachinko: Book
The Pachinko series is adapted from the book titled Pachinko is written by Min Jin Lee. It was first published on 7 February 2017. The book also has been a finalist in the National Book Award for Fiction. The book is divided into three sections, and each part of this section is introduced with quotes from Charles Dickens, Park Wan-Suh, and Benedict Anderson, respectively.
The first part of the book begins with the story of the father of Sunja, Hoonie, and ends with the birth of Noa. The second part of the book begins with the incarceration of Baek Isak and ends with Sunja’s search for Koh Hansu. The final part of the book starts with Noa’s new beginnings in Nagano and ends with Sunja’s reflection of everything that has happened to her.
The theme of Pachinko revolves around the themes of stereotypes, racism, and power. The book mostly revolves around the experiences of Koreans in Japan during the Second World War. The book has a rating of 4.3 on Goodreads and therefore, one can expect good reviews from the movie too, especially in the case of plots. The viewers can binge-watch the first three episodes on 25 March 2022.
