Actress Robyn Griggs Dies at 49 Following Cervical Cancer Diagnosis

Her publicist, Lisa Rodrigo, confirmed that the “Another World” actress Robyn Griggs passed away at the age of 49.

On Saturday, her verified Facebook page announced news of Griggs’ death.

“With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing,” the post said, although it’s unclear who wrote the tribute. “However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories.”

The statement continued: “I will never forget how open she was to telling her story and accepting of me helping her tell it. She wanted to help people and spread the word of her story to do it. I was honored to do so. RIP, my friend, I love you and smile when I think of you.”

Since Griggs’s stage 4 cervical cancer diagnosis in 2020, she has been transparent about her health struggles.

The actress revealed in July that she had four new tumors on Facebook. “I told them whatever it takes. I’m in for the fight,” a post stated. “I’ll be very sore, nauseous, etc., but maybe it works and relieves some pain. You never know. Please keep those prayers coming, Hugs to all!!!”

Pennsylvania-born Griggs gained fame for her roles as Stephanie Hobart on “One Life to Live” (1991–1992) and Maggie Cory on “Another World” (1993–1995).

She had a career renaissance in 2003, appearing in films like “Zombiegeddon,” “Severe Injuries,” and “Minds of Terror,” among others.

Griggs’ husband, Mark Wiley, is the only person who survived her.
