Dilation and curettage, or a “D&C,” is a medical operation usually used to remove uterine anomalies or tissue in the case of an incomplete miscarriage, a non-viable, risky, or undesirable pregnancy. Jessa Duggar Seewald just stated that she is healing from the procedure.
Ex-star of “19 Kids and Counting” Jenna Elfman opened up about her struggles with miscarriage in a new video posted to YouTube on February 24. Jessa said she recently went to the hospital for a D&C due to strange pregnancy symptoms in the video “Heartbreak Over the Holidays.”
The video she posted on Friday began with her and her husband, Ben Seewald, telling their four children, Spurgeon, 7, Henry, 6, Ivy, 3, and Fern, 1, that they were pregnant.
Even though the reality star’s spotting had stopped after she sang hymns of faith with her family, her physicians advised her that the pregnancy did not “look good” when they reviewed the ultrasound.

Miscarriage Is Something Jessa Duggar Has Opened Up About, Saying, I Just Immediately Started Crying
Jessa Duggar Shares She Suffered a Miscarriage. The 30-year-old 19 Kids and Counting star recounted her heartbreaking pregnancy in the roughly 19-minute YouTube video, from telling her kids about the new baby to dealing with the news that she had miscarried.
Jessa recorded on tape that she was worried about “spotting” blood early in the pregnancy. Her relatives sung “Day by Day” to cheer her up. At her next ultrasound, the doctor told her the baby did not “look good.”
“Nothing could have prepared me for that moment,” Jessa added. “I was stunned. No words. Cried immediately.” Once the technician left, her husband, Ben Seewald, hugged her to “get through the loss.”
This is monstrous. Jessa Duggar suffered a miscarriage recently & received a D&C afterward (common medical care) to clear womb & protect her from infection. Abortion activists are capitalizing on her suffering by claiming she had an abortion. There is no depth they won’t sink to. pic.twitter.com/qiQ31vrI00

“We were just sitting there holding hands and crying, like, ‘what do we do from here,'” Jessa said. “Miscarriages can be so startling because you don’t have clear symptoms of something going wrong,” she said. “Minimal spotting for 24 hours.”
She stated she checked into a hospital for a dilation and curettage operation to remove the foetus due to concerns of complications at home. “I was able to thank God in that moment for giving us this life,” Jessa said emotionally. She stated the most complex part was after the procedure.
“Those 10 to 15 minutes before I was transported back to the room where Ben and my mom were waiting were some of the hardest in my life, just sitting there feeling so alone,” she said, breaking down.
