Steve Perry, the former lead singer for the band Journey, has dropped his lawsuit against the other members of the band for the rights to 20 of the group’s most well-known songs. Perry, who left Journey for good in 1998, filed court documents in September 2022 to stop Freedom JN LLC, the firm run by Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain that owns the Journey trademarks, from utilizing the trademarks on products.

According to Perry, he didn’t provide permission for Cain and Schon to make any commercial decisions involving the trademarks without majority approval. Perry continued by saying the two committed “fraud on the trademark office” by providing false information regarding the trademark.
Yet, on Friday night, the musician shared the cancellation form that Perry had submitted to show that he had dropped the complaint. When pressed further on whether or if Perry rescinded the lawsuit, Schon said, “Yes, he did.” Our normal conversation may resume.”
