Jon Stewart has been tirelessly lobbying Republican senators to pass the Honoring Our PACT Act, which would provide additional health benefits to veterans who were exposed to toxic burn pits overseas from Capitol Hill and the airwaves of Newsmax and Fox News.

Jon Stewart Responds to Ted’s Remarks
Aside from his Apple TV+ series, which he used on Friday to directly respond to Senator Ted Cruz’s most recent excuses, he also has a YouTube channel associated with The Daily Show, which he used to respond to Cruz on Friday afternoon.
This morning, a TMZ reporter cornered Cruz at an airport and asked him about Stewart’s crusade. The Republican, after voting against the PACT Act, said of Stewart, “He’s actually quite funny.”
Cruz, holding a can of Diet Dr. Pepper, continued by saying the Democrats were engaging in a “budgetary trick” by reclassifying previously “discretionary” spending as “mandatory.”
Responding, Stewart referred to Cruz’s statements as “inaccurate, not true, bullshit” before systematically demonstrating the illogic of his position. “Now, I’m not a big city, Harvard-educated lawyer,” he said, “but I can read. It’s always been mandatory spending, so the government can’t just cut off its funding at any point. No trick, no gimmick, been there the whole fucking time.”
Stewart said it again, “This is bullshit.” He pointed the finger at Cruz for voting for the bill in June, then switched his vote to join a large group of Republicans who opposed it despite its identical text.
By comparing a video of Cruz “praising to the heavens our nation’s fighting men and women” with a video of him “fist-bumping his Senate colleagues after removing those same veterans’ benefits and healthcare for toxic wounds,” the comedian and activist concluded his message.
Motherfucker, he said as a final word.
