It was confirmed on Saturday that comedian and actor Teddy Ray, who was featured on the HBO Max series “PAUSE with Sam Jay,” has passed away. He was 32 years old.
As reported by the Los Angeles Times, the death of the comedian, whose real name was Theodore Brown, was reported on Friday morning in the desert village of Rancho Mirage.

Teddy Ray Cause of Death
The news was confirmed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and the county’s coroner’s office. When asked about the death on private property, Sheriff’s Sgt. Brandi Swan said that authorities arrived but were unable to determine the cause of death.
The news of Ray’s death was met with sadness by the entertainment industry and by several of Ray’s fellow comedians.
“Teddy Ray was a hilarious and beloved performer,” TV network Comedy Central said in a Twitter statement. “He’ll be deeply missed by the entire comedy community.”
The multi-platform media company All Def Digital, with whom Ray had worked, tweeted that it was “heartbroken” to hear of his death. It was written in the tweet, “We shall miss him every day but we know he will have Heaven laughing.”

Ray was a stand-up comedian, performed in the digital series Cancel Court, and guest starred as the bailiff on “PAUSE with Sam Jay.”
