Release Date:  When will The Crown Season 5 premiere?

As of now, the makers have not revealed the release date of the next installment. However, it is confirmed that the production of season 5 of The Crown began last month which is going to serve the personal nuances and political journey of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. The show debuted in 2016 which served a total of four seasons, the fourth one ended in 2020.

In January 2020, Netflix announced that The Crown’s fifth season will conclude the story but later it was announced that Netflix confirmed that the series will be continued to the sixth season. Peter Morgan shared that the team will move forward with the original plan of six seasons. The decision of five seasons was revised to six, to provide more richness to the complex story.

The release date of season 5 is not clear, we will not get the season until 2022. Production got underway but it will take a lot more time in the development phases. Apart from this, it also attracted sixty-three nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards which enlist as Outstanding Drama Series and many more. The show also bagged the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series, twice in Best Drama, at the 74th and 78th ceremonies. Deadline shared a report on the cast of  Season 5. According to that, it will include Princess Diana’s bombshell. Staunton replaced Emmy-nominated Olivia Colman, Major as Jonny Lee Miller, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Dominic West as Prince Charles.

What will be the storyline of Season 5 of The Crown?

The drama is predicted to continue with the same decade with Staunton at the helm. The latest season of the show ended with scenes from the Queen’s life dating back. The show is likely to serve much more drama of the British family.

Peter Morgan revealed that season six will not serve as something relatable to the present. He added that we will get closer to the same period in greater detail. Apart from this, The Hollywood Reporter also stamped that the story will conclude in the 2000s, but exact details on the division of season 5 and 6 stories are kept hidden. The details on the plotline are not sufficient to comment much on that. But one thing is guaranteed that we will surely enjoy season 5 of this historical drama.
