The Old Man Season 2 Release Date: The Old Man was one of the few new shows to have a significant influence in 2022. Even though it was released after the Emmy eligibility period had ended in 2022, the FX political action-thriller had one of the year’s strongest premieres, setting new records for Hulu and positioning itself for Emmy victory the following year. We won’t be surprised if Jeff Bridges gets another statue to put next to his Oscar on the mantel.
In The Old Man, Bridges plays Dan Chase, a former CIA agent who must come out of hiding when an old enemy seeks revenge. John Lithgow plays Dan’s longtime buddy and FBI assistant director Harold Harper. Harper is in charge of the investigation into Dan’s whereabouts. We can’t wait for The Old Man Season 2 release date because of how exciting and suspenseful it is.
How about Season 2 of The Old Man? Who is going back? Have you seen the dogs lately? Below you can learn everything about The Old Man Season 2 release date.
The Old Man Season 2 Release Date
After the third episode of The Old Man aired on FX on June 27, 2022, the network quickly renewed the show for a second season. The Old Man Season 2 release date has not been set as of now. We have no idea when Season 2 will premiere, but if the show follows its current schedule, it will likely premiere in the summer of 2023.
The Old Man Season 2 Plot
Season 2 will very certainly take up immediately after the events of Season 1 when Dan Chase and Harold Harper set out to rescue Angela/Emily (Alia Shawkat) from Faraz Hamzad. Why wouldn’t it? Dan Shotz and Jonathan E. Steinberg, the show’s creators, told Deadline that now that Dan and Harold are back together, they want to go deeper into their story by viewing the past from the characters’ eyes. This might be the flashback thread in Season 2.
Be assured that Angela/Emily will soon discover the identity of her biological father. “As a general rule, we never want a character to be too far behind the audience. So that’s coming pretty quickly for her,” Steinberg told Deadline.
The Old Man Season 2 Cast
Given the way Season 1 of The Old Man ended (with many plots left unresolved), it is safe to assume that the majority of the series’ key cast and characters, including Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow, will return for Season 2. Agent Raymond Waters (E.J. Bonilla) and the rest of the cast who didn’t make it out of the season finale alive are gone forever and will not be back for Season 2.

Don’t worry, Zoe will be back for Season 2. Shotz promises that Amy Brenneman, who plays Zoe, will “absolutely be back” for Season 2 and that her story is “extremely exciting,” despite the fact that Dan abandoned her to pursue his daughter. Everyone is also wondering if Dan’s Rottweiler dogs will make an appearance in Season 2 of The Old Man.
