Thomaston-Upson Schools Coming out of Lockdown After Student Saw ‘Hand Held Massager that Resembled a Handgun’
In Upson County, just west of Macon, Georgia, there was a lockdown of all schools Tuesday because of a reported gun on a school campus.
A parent of a student at Upson Lee High School called the Upson County Sheriff’s Office just before noon to report that their child had seen another student with a handgun in the boy’s restroom.

Thomaston-Upson Schools Coming out of Lockdown
While deputies investigated, the entire Thomaston-Upson school district was put on lockdown after being notified by school officials. The male student was later found to have “a hand-held massager that resembled a handgun,” according to the police investigation.
The sheriff of Upson County, Dan Kilgore, said in a statement that there was no active shooter and all students were safe.

A student brought the massager to school, but it’s not clear why or what disciplinary action will be taken.
