The 39-year-old actress and army veteran Stewart’s trial is scheduled to begin on April 20, 2020, according to court documents cited by The Blast on Monday.
The book chapter titled “The Ex-Husband,” in which Haddish portrayed her ex-husband—whom she never mentioned by name and who has only been married to Stewart—as a stalker and abuser is the central component of the lawsuit.
Haddish has rejected the accusations made in Stewart’s $1 million-plus lawsuit, which was filed after the actress, who was married to Haddish from 2008 until 2013, claimed that the book was slanderous, libelous, and defamatory.
Stewart claimed that despite his lawyer reaching out to her on several occasions to try and reach a settlement, the Uncle Drew star has not made any attempts to do so.
