Watch David Harbour In The Latest We Have A Ghost Trailer

On Thursday, Netflix released the first trailer for their upcoming fantasy comedy-drama We Have a Ghost, which features a spectral David Harbour (played by Harbour) fleeing the CIA while wearing a bowling shirt.

Kevin (Jahi Di’Allo Winston), a teenager, encounters and befriends Ernest (David Harbour), a silent ghost haunting the old house he and his family have just moved into. The film is directed by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky).

Social media alerts both shady con artists and the federal government to Ernest’s presence, and they will do whatever it takes to get their hands on him for experiments. Fulton must take a road trip to aid Ernest in evading the law and resting his spirit.

Landon has established himself as a skilled filmmaker who can successfully update classic horror comedies. We Have a Ghost looks like a cross between Caspar (1995) and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) based on the trailer alone. How well it actually works out remains to be seen, but thus far, things are looking quite promising.

Christopher Landon has become well-known in the horror film industry for his work as a director on such films as Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014), Happy Death Day (2017), and Freaky (2020).

Even though his upcoming Netflix film We Have a Ghost (releasing on February 24) is set in the ghostly realm, Landon employs a more family-friendly tone in this project. Filmmaker and screenwriter Landon describes the plot of his adaptation of Geoff Manaugh’s short tale “Ernest” as being about a “somewhat dysfunctional family” who relocate into a haunted mansion.

Frank, the father (played by Anthony Mackie), decides to launch a YouTube channel about the family and the ghost instead of running away as everyone else does when they see the ghost. David Harbour, star of Netflix’s Stranger Things, plays the ghost Ernest, and he’s no stranger to playing scary characters on television.
