DaBaby's real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, and he was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 22nd, 1991. His family, which includes three brothers, settled in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1999, making him the youngest of the bunch. 

After completing high school at Vance in 2010, DaBaby attended UNC Greensboro for two years. When asked about his time in college, he said,  "I didn't even have a major decision at college. I only went to school for my parents."

At a concert in Tampa, Florida in 2020, DaBaby slapped a female fan on his way to the stage, drawing boos from the audience.
