More than five weeks before its scheduled release date of September 1st, Daedalic Entertainment has postponed The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

On Monday, the developer announced on Twitter that it would require additional time to complete the development of the game.

“In order to deliver the best possible experience, we have decided to push the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum by a few months,” Daedalic said

The studio did not share a new release date but promised to do so “in the near future.”

Although the game was initially scheduled for release in 2021, Daedalic pushed the release date to 2022 at the beginning of last year.

In May, it was announced that the same September 1 release date would be used.
