Woman Sues Lady Gaga For Not Paying $500K Bounty For Retrieving Her Stolen Pups

Jennifer McBride is suing Lady Gaga because she claims she was never paid the $500,000 prize she was promised for returning Lady Gaga’s stolen canines in 2021. First to report on the legal action was BuzzFeed News.

Ryan Fischer, Lady Gaga’s dog walker, was murdered in the line of duty in February 2021. Koji and Gustav were two of the three dogs stolen.

Immediately after the event, Gaga posted a reward of $500,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of Koji and Gustav, including McBride, who “discovered” the canines and turned them over to police two days after the robbery.

Police arrested five people in April 2021. According to a previous article by Insider, despite police’s initial belief that McBride was not engaged in the crime, she was later found to have had a relationship with the father of one of the accused.

After entering a no contest plea to one count of receiving stolen property in December 2022, McBride was given a two-year probationary period, as the Los Angeles Times reported.

According to the Los Angeles Times, James Howard Johnson, the guy responsible for shooting Fischer, was given a 21-year sentence that month.

The lawsuit McBride filed, which BuzzFeed News obtained, states that she “has incurred compensatory damages, pain and suffering, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life” due to being denied the reward. Gaga is accused of “defrauding” McBride “by committing without purpose to perform,” according to the lawsuit.

Lady Gaga Dog Nabbing Suspect Ex-girlfriend Files Lawsuit For Reward Money

Her bravado is admirable. As BuzzFeed News revealed yesterday, Jennifer McBride, who recovered Lady Gaga’s stolen French bulldogs after a violent dognapping in February 2021, is suing the Grammy and Oscar-winning musician for the $500,000 reward money she promised.

The lawsuit alleges that Gaga “defrauded” McBride “by making a promise without purpose to perform,” causing her pain, suffering, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life.

After turning the canines over to the LAPD’s Olympic Community Police Station, McBride was found to have a link with the heist planners. She was one of five detained after the event and sentenced to two years probation.

That wasn’t just stealing someone else’s pets for a bit. The theft wounded Ryan Fischer, Gaga’s dog walker. Luckily, he lived, but McBride was jailed for accessory attempted murder. She pleaded no contest to receiving stolen property.

L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Michelle Hanisee told TMZ that McBride was “more than aware the pups were stolen when she returned them in hopes of obtaining the reward, and had known the persons involved in the shooting for years.”
