Carr and Van Johnson co-created the TV show pilot Take Her, She’s Mine in 1965. The next year, in 1966, Carr starred in the ABC Stage 67 production of Evening Primrose, a one-hour musical by Stephen Sondheim. She left the entertainment industry the following year to wed dentist Jay Brent; the couple later divorced in 1991.
