News Agencies were informed by MeatLoaf’s representative of his passing. The cause of death was not disclosed.

The artist, whose career spanned six decades, received several tributes.

“Had So Much Fun With Meatloaf When We Did “Dead Ringer,” Cher tweeted. “Am Very Sorry For His Family, Friends,& Fans. Am I imagining It, or Are Amazing Ppl In The Arts Dying every other Day.”

The singer’s hometown is Dallas, and his real name is Marvin Lee Aday.

Hits like “Paradise by the Dashboard Light,” “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad,” and “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)” were from MeatLoaf’s two most successful albums, 1977’s “Bat Out of Hell” and 1993’s “Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell.”

In 1993, for the song “I’d Do Anything for Love,” he received the Grammy for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance.

MeatLoaf has made guest appearances on several TV shows and in movies like “Fight Club” and “Wayne’s World,” as well as the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

The singer admitted that health issues hampered his recent performances. But in November, he announced on Facebook that he was ready to get back to work in the studio in the new year after four back operations.

“The back surgeries hurt everything. Before the back surgeries, I was still trying to do shows, and that’s when some of you saw or heard of me collapsing on stage and finally stopping the tour in the UK. I couldn’t hit high notes because of back pain. Not a slight back pain. Pain that would bring you to your knees,” he wrote.

MeatLoaf went to the hospital in 2016 after collapsing onstage in Edmonton, Canada. A spokeswoman at the time indicated dehydration was the cause.
