Q’orianka Kilcher Charged With Fraud
It has been revealed that Kilcher used her temporary disability insurance payments to work on the Paramount+ Yellowstone TV series. The actress claims she hurt her neck and shoulder filming “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” and that she subsequently told doctors she couldn’t work because of her injury. She also mentioned that other roles had been offered to her, but she had to decline them because of her current situation.
The defense attorney, Michael Becker, stated, “As such, Ms. Kilcher will vigorously defend herself, and she asks that she be afforded the presumption of innocence both in and out of the courthouse.”
KTLA writes, “Kilcher, who lives in North Hollywood, went to see a doctor a few times that year but stopped treatment and did not respond to the insurance company that was handling her claim on behalf of her employer. According to records, she returned to the doctor and started receiving disability benefits five days after the last working on the show,” officials said.
As a whole, the actress has received a total of $97,838 in compensation. Her next court date is August 7, 2022.
“Third-party doctors confirmed her injury and eligibility for benefits.” According to the statement released by Becker, “Ms. Kilcher was always forthright with her doctors and treatment providers.”
