Carnival Row Season 2 Cast

The main cast of season 2 of “Carnival Row,” including Cara Delevingne (Vignette Stonemoss), Orlando Bloom (Rycroft Philostrate AKA “Philo”), Tamzin Merchant (Imogen Spurnrose), and David Gyasi, will all be back.  Other cast members, such as Karla Crome (Tourmaline Larou), Simon McBurney (Runyon Millworthy), Andrew Gower (Ezra Spurnrose), Caroline Ford (Sophie Longerbane), and Arty Froushan (Jonah Breakspear), could return for season two as well.

Since both Jared Harris’s Absalom Breakspear and Indira Varma’s Piety Breakspear are killed off in the first season, neither actor will be returning for the second.

Plotline

Season one ends with a bang as Philo and Vignette face off to solve the murder mystery plaguing Burge. Philo now knows that Piety Breakspear, a believer in the prophecy that Philo will come into great powers, ordered those deaths. The murders that occurred earlier in the season, including the murder of Philo’s mother, were ordered by the envious Piety, who created the Dark Asher monster. Absalom is killed by Piety after he tries to persuade her that Philo won’t become a threat. As soon as Philo learns the truth, he is able to vanquish Dark Asher. On the other hand, Vignette decides to eliminate Piety to restore order in Carnival Row.

Philo finally comes to terms with his fae heritage at the start of Season 2 of “Carnival Row,” at which point he and Vignette officially become a unit. Conflicts and separation between the fae and humans, which could lead to an uprising, will be explored further this season. Former showrunner Marc Guggenheim discussed his plans for season 2 of carnival row in an interview with EW published in August 2019. “The trick for Philo is, it’s not, unfortunately, as simple as him embracing the fact that he’s fae. To the fae, he’s not really fae. He’s a half-blood. So, he basically is a man without a country. You know, he’s not human enough for the humans, but he’s not fae enough for the fae. He kind of exists in this sort of status Twilight Zone. So that’s another thing that he’ll be wrestling with in season 2,” he said.
