Virgil Abloh, a well-known American designer, artist, and architect who was also the creative director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear line, died so early on Sunday at the age of 41. According to an announcement on his official Instagram profile, the much-loved fashion expert has been battling a rare, aggressive form of cancer and cardiac angiosarcoma for two years. 

Virgil Abloh is not only the founder of the fashion label Off-White, but he is also the first black American to hold the position of creative director of a French luxury fashion brand. Condolences have been coming in from all corners whether it is Bollywood or Hollywood.

All the personalities are taken to social media to express their grief over the death of Virgil Abloh. Virgil Abloh started his creative career in 2012 and has since worked for brands like Nike, Ikea, and Mercedes-Benz, among others.

He established the luxury streetwear brand Off-White in 2013, and in 2018 he has appointed the head of menswear design at Louis Vuitton. Shannon Abloh, Virgil Abloh’s wife, his children Lowe and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, and his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh survive him.

Gigi Hadid, a close friend of Virgil Abloh, shared her sorrow with a series of beautiful photos of the two, as well as a touching post on her Instagram profile writing, I am heartbroken by the passing of my beloved friend and a friend to the world, Virgil Abloh which she wrote in a note. He was one of a kind person whom she met.

She expressed that “You will continue to inspire me every day, V,”. Every moment makes me feel blessed and honored. My friend, take it easy. You are extremely loved. You were the one who made the difference. “See you someplace, soon,” she said, sending her sympathies to Virgil Abloh’s family.

Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid’s fellow model, also paid tribute to her on Instagram, writing, “I cannot believe I’m writing this.” You were one of the fortunate ones if you had the opportunity to meet Virgil. He was the nicest, most upbeat, modest, cheerful, and full-of-life person I had ever met.

Hailey Beiber- Virgil Abloh, who designed Hailey Bieber’s wedding gown, shared photos with the designer from her wedding to Justin Bieber. She also left a touching message for Virgil, honoring him for “always bringing life, charisma, love, and laughter to any situation, and every room he entered into.”
