The Witcher: Blood Origin is a Netflix original miniseries that offers as a prequel to Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher novel, for which he serves as a creative consultant. It will have six episodes and was revealed on July 27, 2020.

This could be related to the difficult production of Season 2 of The Witcher which was hampered by the pandemic and later injuries to lead Henry Cavill which overall resulted in the delay of its release.
But now things have been disclosed that the filming of this series has been completed with no more stuff left behind. Blood Origins seems unlikely to arrive this year as it was earlier disclosed that it could hit the screens in December this year but nothing came officially yet regarding its release.

The Witcher Blood Origin Plot
As we have mentioned at the beginning, this new show explores the origins of the Witchers with the focus on the first to carry silver and steel swords in the upcoming season.
According to the official Netflix hints, it has been disclosed that the plot will follow a set in an elven world 1200 years before the world of The Witcher, Blood Origin will tell a story which is lost to time, the origin of the very first Witcher and the events that lead to the crucial combination of the worlds when the worlds of monsters, men, and creatures merged to become one.
That is all we know for now, although the action will take place over six episodes, which is making it too shorter than The Witcher’s first season. However, these are only speculations rather than official. Once an official plot becomes available then it is probable that we will come back with another update.
Netflix has revealed that the series will be managed by Declan De Barra and Lauren Schmidt, who also produced the main Witcher series, ensuring that the franchise remains consistent.
