WarnerMedia CEO Monitoring ‘The Batman’ Release but ‘We Feel Good About the Date Right Now’
COVID-19 is a threat to every industry, and the entertainment industry is no different. Now, with the surge in the COVID-19 cases, the DC fan base is worried about the release of The Batman on the officially announced release date. Batman is one of the highly anticipated movies of 2022.
The Batman will come to the theaters after almost ten years following The Dark Knight Rises. Since its announcement, the fans have shown excitement for it.
Warner Media had officially set 4th March as the release date for The Batman. However, given the 3rd wave of coronavirus, the fans are cautious.

The Release date of the Batsman has already shifted numerous times. The movie is already quite delayed. Initially, the premiere date of the film was June 25, 2021. However, the production of the film got delayed due to the second wave of COVID 19 due to which the film could not hit the theater on the scheduled date.
The creators announced the new release date to be October 1, 2021. Lots of images and the first teaser also arrived and the hopes of fans were at a height. However, the production of the movie could not complete, and Warner Media had given the reason of COVID-19 for the delay.
Later, Warner Media announced a new release date of March 4, 2022. Now, with the surge in coronavirus, fans are worried if the production house will again shift the date for the most anticipated movie.
However, there is no news of worry as of now. Instead, Jason Kilar, the CEO of WarnerMedia, assured that there are no delays as of now, and everything is on schedule. Killer, in an interview with Puck News, said that the team is feeling confident about the release date of the film.
He further added that there are no plans of delay or shifting of date yet. He further said the whole team is monitoring the release date and closely paying attention. His exact words are-
“We’re certainly paying attention to everything going on with Omicron. We feel good about the date right now. We’re gonna watch it day by day.”
Though Kilar is assuring the timely release of the film, Warner Bros may delay it again like other streaming giants. Sony pictures delayed the release of Morbius. The movie would have to premiere in January but shifted to April. On the other hand, Disney decided to cancel the theatrical release of Pixar’s Turning Red, and stream it directly on its OTT platform, Disney+.
However, Warners Media is still sticking to 45 days after the theatrical release of the movie. The production house does not want to lose the 45-day theatrical release profit. As indicated by the 2021 box office, the audience loves to go to theaters to watch their favorite superhero movies.
And after seeing the immense success of Spider-Man: No Way Home in the theaters, Warner Bros is hopeful that the film will likely bring the audience to the theater.
The movie will move to HBO Max, the streaming platform, after 45 days of theatrical release.
If there is a delay in the release of The Batman, it might impact the release of the other DC movies lined up to release in 2022. Five movies, League of Super-Pets, Black Adam, The Flash and Aquaman, and the Lost Kingdom are scheduled to release in 2022. All the movies will delay if there will be a delay in the release of The Batsman.
So, Finger Crossed, fans! There are high chances that there won’t be any delay in the release of The Batman.
