Why Did Chrishell and Jason Dated? Relationship History And All Updates
It’s safe to say that the “Selling Sunset” cast has its share of quarrels, but practically everyone can agree on one thing: Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim make a fantastic couple.
“I’ve never been with a better woman or felt more happy and comfortable in a relationship,” Oppenheim remarked in season five of the series.
In 2018, Stause became an agent for the Oppenheim Group, which is owned by Oppenheim and his twin brother, Brett. When season five of “Selling Sunset” was being filmed in 2021, she and Oppenheim made their public debut as a couple in an Instagram post.
Throughout season five, friends and even Oppenheim’s mother question the couple about their future plans for marriage and children due to their strong bond. They break up because of the answers to those questions, which are explained in the finale.

Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim Relationship History
We saw Chrishell and Jason go from pals to lovers, then back to friends again.
Once their romance was revealed in July 2021, fans of Selling Sunset were ecstatic. They were even more excited when the show’s season 5 trailer gave an inside look at their relationship. It’s Oppenheim who runs the Oppenheim Group, where the hit Netflix reality program takes place, and Stause reports to him. In addition to the Selling Sunset cameras, the couple indulged in PDA on Instagram and didn’t hesitate to guess about one another, which was filmed by the cameras.
Keo Motsepe and Justin Hartley‘s divorce filing in November 2019 reportedly stunned Stause, who was married to the ‘This Is Us’ star until then. Prior to his connection with Stause, Oppenheim’s personal life was entirely hidden from the public eye.
To their co-stars on Selling Sunset’s delight, Stause and Oppenheim had been good friends before they began dating. Five months after they first went public with their relationship, though, things came to an end. To this day, the two are “very proud” of their relationship, which Stause told PEOPLE in February 2022, and they still have a great deal of affection for one another.

What you need to know about Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim’s love story, from their Instagram debut to their “bittersweet” divorce.
While he is open to finding love, Oppenheim said in late 2020 that he would never date one of his coworkers.
“I’m definitely looking for someone that I’m friends with, and that I’m happy with because I can have stress in my life from work,” he stated “. “So someone I’m relaxed with, happy with, and that’s just funny and smart.”
When asked about dating a coworker, Oppenheim, who had previously dated Selling Sunset co-star, and Oppenheim Group agent Mary Fitzgerald, laughed it off. Furthermore, he made it clear that they had dated before meeting at the office.
“I don’t want to get my hands dirty in it,” he remarked. No one at the Oppenheim Group has ever tempted me, thus I’ve never dated a member of the company.
Two photographs of Stause and Oppenheim were included in an Instagram carousel of photos from her recent vacation to Italy. She kissed his head in one photo, while he nuzzled her neck in the other.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were both in Capri at about the same time, so she captioned the photos, “The JLo effect,” with a shrugging emoji.
Their Selling Sunset co-stars Amanza Smith, Brett Oppenheim, Mary Fitzgerald and her husband Romain Bonnet, and model Tina Louise (who had previously been linked to Brett) accompanied them on a Mediterranean vacation.
In a comment on Stause’s post, Fitzgerald, who had dated Jason in the past, said, “Nothing makes me more excited than to see two of my closest friends together and making each other so happy!” Fitzgerald had previously dated Jason.
Just like Brett, who was just as ecstatic, wrote “Chrishell, I miss you. Thanks for making my brother’s life a little easier.”
When asked by PEOPLE exclusively if he and Stause were dating on July 28, Oppenheim said “yes.”
“Chrishell and I became close friends and it has developed into an amazing relationship,” Oppenheim stated. “I care about her deeply and we are very happy together.”
According to various sources, the pair broke up on Dec. 21 after five months of dating in public. Oppenheim and Stause did not immediately respond to inquiries about the breakup, despite Stause telling E! News in an interview published less than a week ago that things were going swimmingly.
Stause stated in the interview that the change from colleagues to partners was an “easy adjustment” since “we were working so much together as it was, and we work so well together.” She added, “I just feel like the work/relationship dynamic, it’s not as complicated as people would think because we were best friends before and we work together all the time. It was so simple, in a way.”
Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim Breakup
Those who have been following the cast of “Selling Sunset” outside of the season will not be surprised by the separation of Oppenheim and Stause, as both spoke about it on Instagram.
Differing views on starting a family were a contributing factor in the breakdown of the relationship. Oppenheim stated on Instagram, “We have different wants about a family.”
Stause, on her end, tried to address both the break-up and her reason for candor in a now-deleted post: “Although my initial reaction to a private situation was to not speak on it, sometimes it’s just easier to live transparently because we only get one chance at this life … I very much hope to one day have a family and decisions I make at this point are with that goal in mind.”
