According to news agencies, Eric Holder was found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle on Wednesday. About six hours of deliberation led to a verdict from the jury.
Two bystanders were shot and Holder, 32, was also charged with attempted first-degree murder, but a jury found him guilty only of attempted voluntary manslaughter.

Eric Holder Convicted In Death of Rapper Nipsey Hussle
Hussle, whose name was Ermias Asghedom, was shot and killed in March of 2019 outside his clothing store in Los Angeles. He was 33.
Last month, when the trial first started, the prosecution claimed that Holder’s attack was planned in advance. Deputy District Attorney John McKinney told the Associated Press that there was “no doubt” Holder intended to kill Hussle and that Holder shot him at least 10 times and kicked him in the head before fleeing the scene.
According to a report by the Associated Press, Hussle wanted to “clear that up” with Holder because he had heard rumors that Holder was a snitch.
The deputy district attorney claimed that Hussle and two of his friends had a “cool conversation” with Holder before the attack and that Hussle did not bring any security with him to the store.
However, it proved difficult for prosecutors to secure the testimony of key witnesses. The Associated Press quotes a law enforcement official as saying that the suspects were reluctant to talk because they didn’t want to be labeled as informants.
Meanwhile, Holder’s attorney Aaron Jansen told the jury that his client didn’t intend to shoot the two bystanders and that Hussle’s murder was an accident. He blamed “heated passion” for the assault.
According to Jansen’s interview, Eric holder was attacked by “multiple individuals” while he was held in a jail cell last week. According to Jansen, he was injured with a razor and treated with an MRI and staples after being taken to the hospital.
