Rachel Robinson is a retired American professor and nurse. She is the widow of baseball star Jackie Robinson. In 1972, Jackie Robinson founded the Jackie Robinson Development Corporation, a real estate firm that aimed to serve families with modest incomes. She also founded the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
Rachel Robinson was born on July 19, 1922, and is currently 99 years old. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and was born in New York City. In 1941, before Jackie Robinson left UCLA, they met. Her nursing degree ceremony was held in July 1945, and she was a graduate by then. On February 10, 1946, the couple exchanged wedding vows, and he broke into the major leagues the following year.
