Golden State Stimulus 2022: When Will You Get Your Payments?
A number of state governors and legislatures have announced stimulus payments or tax rebates to help citizens cope with the nation’s skyrocketing cost of living in 2022. Over 800,000 Californians may soon receive a financial boost, though, as the latest batch of Golden State Stimulus II checks is scheduled to be sent this month.
“We passed the recovery package to get money into the pockets of Californians who were hit hardest by this pandemic, and that’s exactly what the Golden State Stimulus is doing – already getting 1.6 billion dollars to 2.5 million Californians,” Governor Gavin Newsom said in a press statement in May 2021.
“Californians who have not filed their 2020 taxes should know they may qualify for these funds, and we look forward to building on programs like this that invest in and support Californians in the months ahead.”
Comptroller and FTB Chair Betty T. Yee remarked, “The Golden State Stimulus will provide a measure of relief to California taxpayers deeply affected by the pandemic.”
“This stimulus, combined with the California Earned Income Tax Credit, will provide hundreds or even thousands of dollars to many individuals and families in need.”
Who Will Be Eligible To Receive Stimulus Payments?
Eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Those who have Filed 2020 taxes by October 15, 2021
- Those who have had an adjusted Gross Income of 1 dollar to 75,000 dollars in California for the 2020 tax year
- Those who have been California residents for more than half of the 2020 tax year
