The 2023 Super Bowl finally has its complete lineup of halftime and halftime show performers. As if Rihanna’s performance at halftime wasn’t enough, a slew of A-list Hollywood stars is also scheduled to appear at this massive athletic event as pre-show acts.
On Tuesday, the NFL revealed that Sheryl Lee Ralph, winner of an Emmy, would be performing the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing” during the show’s opening halftime. In 2022, the “Abbott Elementary” star performed when winning her Emmy.
Chris Stapleton Babyface Among Super Bowl Performers
Joining Ralph in the pre-show festivities is Grammy-winning country music artist Chris Stapleton, who has been tapped to sing the National Anthem. R&B crooner Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds will also perform, with a rendition of “America the Beautiful.”
Each performer will have talent accompanying them to provide American Sign Language (ASL) on behalf of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), according to a release from the NFL. Oscar winner Troy Kotsur will sing the national anthem alongside Stapleton.

Kotsur won a supporting actor Academy Award in 2022 for his work in “CODA,” becoming the second Deaf person ever to win an acting Oscar after Marlee Matlin. Chris Stapleton To Sing National Anthem At Super Bowl
Singing the national anthem at next month’s Super Bowl will be country music sensation Chris Stapleton, and R&B great Babyface will perform “America the Beautiful.” On February 12, before the championship game and Rihanna’s halftime act at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the performers will take the field. Fox will telecast broadcasts of the shows.
Sheryl Lee Ralph, an actor and singer who was nominated for an Emmy in the same category last year, will also be performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Quinta Brunson is the lead character in the popular sitcom “Abbott Elementary.” Golden Globe victor Troy Kotsur will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” in ASL. After George Clooney, he is the second deaf actor to receive an Oscar for his performance in the film “CODA.”

To celebrate 50 years of women pilots in the United States Navy, a flyover of State Farm Stadium is being planned. For the fourth year running, Jay-Roc Z’s Nation is serving as executive producer for the halftime show. Jesse Collins returns as an executive producer.
Stapleton is one of the most celebrated artists in the country, having won eight Grammy Awards. He won three Grammys in a single year and was named male vocalist of the year by the Country Music Association.
In his long and successful career, Babyface has recorded a number of chart-topping singles, such as “Whip Appeal,” “When Can I See You,” and “Give U My Heart” (a duet with Toni Braxton) for which he earned 12 Grammy Awards. He co-founded LaFace Records and has worked with a wide range of famous artists, such as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Ella Mai, and Patti LaBelle.
