Did She Really Use Ozempic for Weight Loss?
Jessica Simpson has moved past the claims that she used the weight loss supplement Ozempic. When asked about her weight loss in an interview with Bustle published on July 5, Simpson silenced the rumors once and for all.
In an interview with the bustle, she stated:
“Oh, Lord. I mean, it is not (Ozempic),” referring to how she’s lost weight. “It’s willpower. I’m like, do people want me to be drinking again? Because that’s when I was heavier. Or do they want me to be having another baby?
My body can’t do it.” Simpson, who quit drinking in 2017, admitted that “it hurts” to hear so much hate about herself from fans, but she insisted that she will not let it hold her back.
“Am I going to let the negativity derail me? No, I’m too old for that. I am too connected to myself right now to let that derail me,” she said.
“It doesn’t mean that it doesn’t hurt.” As for her body, Simpson said that she’s been “fortunate to have been every size” because it helps her “brand, understanding the women (who buy our products), and for my psyche,” she said.
The weight loss effects of the prescription dr*g Ozempic, which is used to treat Type 2 d!abetes, have recently received a lot of attention. The medicine reduces hunger and fullness by releasing a synthetic version of a hormone your body naturally makes when you eat.
Ozempic’s manufacturer, Novo Nordisk, has previously told, that it does not endorse any uses of the dr*g outside of its approved indications. “We do not promote, suggest, or encourage off-label use of our medicines,” the company added. “We trust that healthcare providers are evaluating a patient’s individual needs and determining which medicine is right for that particular patient.”
