After the events of the season 4 finale, the new episodes will have a lot to make up for. Throughout the fourth season, Spencer and Olivia’s (Samantha Logan) relationship was strained. In the series finale, she was working on a news story that could have devastating effects on Spencer’s athletic career and the Golden Angeles University football team. Considering how precarious their connection is, can they weather such a massive hurricane if Olivia decides to spill the beans?
After his breakup with Simone (Geffri Maya), Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) came clean about his feelings for Layla. She is attracted to him as well, but she has put the brakes on any romantic pursuits between them for the time being. We’re going to take a wild guess and say that their relationship will develop in the upcoming episodes. Although Layla’s ex-fling is now her boss in a sense, the two did not end on the best of terms, so getting to #Jayla may be difficult.
Let’s cross our fingers that Jordan isn’t so thick that he’d play through a broken hand during his first season of college football. We don’t have a lot of faith in his ability to handle this new problem responsibly in light of his injury history in high school. Season 5 will also likely focus on Coop’s (Bre-Z) aspirations to become a lawyer, Asher’s (Cody Christian) growth as a football coach, and Billy’s (Taye Diggs) evolution as a high school principal.

Casting news for season 5 has been relatively quiet so far. While it has been reported that Spencer’s mother (Karimah Westbrook) and brother (Jayln Hall) are leaving Los Angeles to live with his mother’s fiance (Lamon Archey), it would be interesting to see if a change in storyline keeps them in the area, or if they are indeed leaving the All American canvas altogether to become reoccurring characters.
