Anne Heche’s Cause of Death Revealed

Anne Heche, an actress, died earlier this month when her car smashed into a house, and a fire ensued.

The Los Angeles County Coroner said on Wednesday that she died from smoke inhalation and “thermal injuries” roughly a week after the catastrophic wreck in Mar Vista. The coroner also noted that Heche’s death was an “accident” and that he had suffered a “sternal fracture owing to blunt trauma.”

On August 5, Heche was seen by witnesses racing through the city before smashing into a two-story house, starting a fire. A salon owner in Venice told Nexstar’s KTLA that Heche had been at the shop just minutes before the accident.

It was reported over the weekend that investigators believe Heche was high on cocaine or another narcotic when the incident occurred.

On Sunday, after Heche’s organs had been removed for donation, she was taken off life support.

The Ohio native’s career included appearances in “Donnie Brasco” and “Six Days, Seven Nights,” as well as a high-profile romance with Ellen DeGeneres, for which she earned an Emmy.

Heche was admitted to the hospital after she knocked on a stranger’s door in a rural location of Fresno, California, following her breakup with DeGeneres. She reportedly appeared bewildered and shook up to authorities and mumbled to locals.

Heche opened up about her battles with mental illness and the violence she endured as a youngster in her memoir “Call Me Crazy.”

There have been multiple turns in Heche’s career throughout the past two decades. In 2017, she and Jason Ellis co-hosted a SiriusXM radio show called “Love and Heche.” In the year 2020, Heche started appearing on podcasts.
