Arthur the King Release Date: The New Movie Hits Theaters Too Soon!

Mark Wahlberg is taking a step back from making many movies. He declared earlier in the year that he would pick his projects more carefully and concentrate on telling motivational tales going forward.

“Arthur the King,” a true story, is one of those inspirational tales. Simon Cellan Jones, who is also directing Mark Wahlberg’s next comedy, “The Family Plan,” is in charge of this one.

A professional adventure racer named Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) is the subject of the film. Over the course of a 10-day, 435-mile race, he develops a close relationship with Arthur, a street dog. With a strong desire to triumph, Michael persuades a sponsor to back him and his athletes (Ali Suliman, Simu Liu, and Natalie Emmanuel) in the Adventure Racing World Championship in the Dominican Republic.

Mark Wahlberg’s portrayal of Michael Light is based on a real-life incident. Leading a group of competitors in a major race in the Dominican Republic, he is a professional adventure racer. In the 400-mile race, they must all be extremely resilient and strong. But what really makes it unique is that Michael befriends Arthur, a stray dog, and Arthur ends up playing a significant role on the team.

The film is directed by Simon Cellan Jones, who previously collaborated with Mark Wahlberg on the film “The Family Plan,” and it is based on a book by Mikael Lindnord. In December, Apple TV Plus will launch that one. Paul Guilfoyle, Juliet Rylance, Ali Suliman, Ali Suliman, Bear Grylls (playing himself), and Simu Liu are among the cast members.
