The legendary wrestler Doug Williams has made the decision to hang up his boots and walk away from the sport. Is Doug Williams Wrestler Getting Retirement?
It appears Doug Williams (Douglas Clayton Durdle) of England has laced up his boots for the final time after nearly 30 years of ring action. The wrestler posted a picture of his boots in the ring on Saturday, June 17 without any accompanying text.
Since then, the only thing he has tweeted is a retweet of a photo of him and Warhorse with the phrase “THANK YOU DOUG.”

Williams has wrestled professionally for nearly 30 years, with notable stops at Ring of Honor and TNA/Impact, where he held the titles of ROH Pure Champion and TNA X Division Champion.
He and Nick Aldis (under the guise of Brutus Magnus) won the Tag Team Championship in both NJPW and TNA during their tenure together as part of the legendary British Invasion faction.
Many of Williams’ contemporaries in the wrestling industry have spoken out in his praise, including Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, AJ Styles, and many more. It was a pleasure to have you as a partner in the ring. Wow, what a ride, pal.
Williams’s final known fight was on May 20 in Belgium, where he lost a Triple Threat match to Martin Steers and Omari for the Irish Junior Heavyweight Championship.
For a man who had already traveled the world, that was merely a pit stop along the route. While he is best known for his success in the United Kingdom, he has also wrestled in Japan and Germany, the latter country having inducted him into its Hall of Fame in 2018.
