A new animated comedy film called The Garfield Movie is being produced in the United States. It is based on Jim Davis’s Garfield comics. Producing it are Columbia Pictures and Alcon Entertainment, which is helming its first animated film. The film’s distribution to theaters is being handled by Sony Pictures Releasing, while DNEG Animation is handling the animation.
Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove, and David Reynolds wrote the screenplay, which is also known as the movie script. Mark Dindal is the director. The primary voice actor for Garfield is Chris Pratt. Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, and Bowen Yang are among the other actors who have contributed voices.
In May of 2016, production on this new Garfield film got underway. Producers and writers were prepared at that point. In November 2018, Dindal was selected as the film’s director, and the following month, preparations for the film began.
The majority of Garfield’s rights were acquired by Viacom in August 2019, but the film still went ahead. Sony then acquired the distribution rights to the film in November 2021, and they cast Chris Pratt as Garfield’s voice actor. In 2022, the remaining voice actors were added. John Debney is the composer, and he frequently collaborates with Dindal.
Garfield Movie 2024 Release Date
First of all, Garfield was supposed to be released on February 16, 2024. It is currently anticipated that The Garfield Movie will make its public premiere on Friday, May 24th of that year. The release date has not yet been confirmed. Given that it opens on Memorial Day, the movie will face off against other eagerly awaited releases like “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” and “Furiosa,” the prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

Garfield Movie 2024 Trailer
The first trailer for “The Garfield Movie” debuted on November 13th, 2023. With a cute baby Garfield scheming to get into a restaurant, it sets the tone for an amusing journey.
The story follows spoilt Garfield and his dog buddy Odie as they go on an exciting outdoor adventure following the cat’s surprise reunion with her father, Vic, which results in a high-stakes theft.

Pratt first appears to viewers as the cat who is obsessed with lasagna in the Garfield clip. In the teaser, Pratt plays Garfield as equally lethargic, and the cat’s voice is uncannily close to Pratt’s own. Viewers should once again respond passionately to this first look at The Garfield Movie.
